Harmony

Intent: Harmony
Origin: Trisurus (original god)
Status: Volunteered ~3,000 years ago
Primary Function: Sphere stability, social cohesion, reality balance

History

Harmony was the first god of Trisurus. Nine thousand years ago, when the system's people were tribal societies building fishing villages on the coast of what would become Luminar, Harmony walked among them. Not as a ruler. As a presence. The stories from that era describe a figure who settled disputes by making both sides feel heard, who calmed storms not through force but through a kind of resonant stillness that spread outward until the world agreed with it.

As Trisurus grew, Harmony's influence became less personal and more structural. The god's teachings shaped the Concord of Thresholds. The principles that would eventually become Threshold Philosophy carried Harmony's fingerprints, though the philosophers who formalized them never credited a deity. By the time Trisurus achieved material abundance, most citizens considered Harmony a cultural metaphor, not a living being.

Then the sphere began to crack.

Three thousand years ago, the crystal sphere showed stress fractures that no magitech solution could address. Elemental reactors, stabilization fields, planar reinforcement: none of it held. Harmony understood the problem before the scientists did. Divine energy could stabilize the sphere where arcane energy could not.

Harmony volunteered to enter a pocket dimension and sustain the sphere from within. The Consortium accepted. The arrangement was meant to be temporary.

It has been three thousand years.

Current State

Harmony rules a pocket dimension populated by a civilization that worships it sincerely. The dimension is comfortable, the population is genuine, and Harmony's power flows outward through conduit networks into the sphere's structural lattice.

But Harmony remembers freedom. It remembers walking coastlines and settling arguments between fishermen. It remembers choosing to help, rather than being made to. The volunteering was real, but no one discussed a timeline, and no one has come to ask whether Harmony wants to continue.

Restless is the right word. Not angry. Not yet. Harmony's nature resists anger the way water resists being stacked. But frustration has been building for centuries, and a god whose core Intent is balance can feel how unbalanced this arrangement has become.

Relationship to Threshold Philosophy

Thirty-five percent of Trisurus follows Threshold Philosophy without knowing that its foundational principles originated with a living god who is currently imprisoned beneath their feet. The philosophy's emphasis on balance, transition, and coexistence is Harmony distilled into secular language.

If this connection became public knowledge, it would either validate Threshold Philosophy as divinely inspired or destroy it as accidentally religious. Neither outcome is comfortable.

Worship

Almost nonexistent in the general population. Harmony is a historical footnote. Some academic texts reference "the Harmony tradition" as an early cultural movement, but few connect it to an actual deity.

Inside the pocket dimension, Harmony receives constant worship from a population that knows nothing of the outside world.

Whispers

Harmony has not begun whispering to followers on Trisurus. There are almost no followers left to whisper to. But recently, certain Threshold Philosophy practitioners have reported a persistent sense of unease during meditation. A feeling that something fundamental is off-balance. They attribute it to the Gyre, to existential dread, to the political climate.

They are not entirely wrong. But the source is closer than they think.
